REdang Lagoon Holiday-Part2

2nd dae @ Redang
Waking the “pigs” up in the morning is a real challenge. haha….the “alarm person” actually forgot to set the alarm before dozing off, so all of us woke up late for breakfast. The worst person to be woken up is Kevin. Even if u scream n shout at him, he’ll continue snoring under his bedsheets. A real “pig champion” i would say.

It’s Morning already!!!!!

Breakfast wif Aisyah…

Right after breakfast, we got ourselves ready for the 2nd snorkelling trip. This time, it’s at Marine Park. The boat ride was much more longer…I think it was nearly 1/2hr or more. There r more ppl snorkeling there, people from other resorts….the place was totally packed. No matter which way u swim to, u’ll bumped into another person. Either that or u gt kick by other swimmers. But we still enjoyed ourselves. Y?? coz we get to feed the fish. We just haf to buy a whole loaf of bread for RM2 n u can start feeding the fish. The first few times, i only dared to throw pieces of bread FAR AWAY frm me n see them attacking that tiny piece of food from a distance. I just haf tis thinking that the fishes might start attacking me if they found out that i was holding on to a bagful of bread. But the sight of fishes swarming towards the bread rite in front of u each time u throw it out, somehow got me forgotten all about the fear. So i started feeding them with the bread in my hand. All u haf to do is hold tight to the bread n bring it underwater, the fishes will just swim towards u n start pecking on the food. haha…if only i could laugh in the water….kinda felt ticklish at first…then the pecking got harder coz the fishes were determined enuf to free the bread. Played a little merry-go-round wif them a little bit coz they will still chase for the food even if u keep spinning. Then i spotted a HUGE brown fish (slightly bigger than 1/2meter) coming towards me. That’s when i panicked n started throwing bread all over the place. haha….I certainly dun wan that brown fish anywhere near me. We swam to a sunken wrecked ship that was said it gt bombed in WW2. It look kinda scary actually. Covered wif algae n everything….i was afraid n eel would just popped out n decided to give us a little shock.

Took lots more of pictures there….

*Blup Blup*

The funniest shot has got to be this 2…..

8a-475.jpg8a-478.jpg
Peekaboo!!!

It’s just so damn hilarious!! We were suppose to take a group shot under water so the ppl at the back (tats me n kev) are suppose to push the ppl infront underwater while another man helps to push the 2 of us at the back. But no matter how many tries we did, it still looked like this. haha…I just love the 1st photo. Susu looked like she had grown an extra pair of legs in between. keke….

It was back to Redang Lagoon for lunch. After that, we just spent the next few hours in our hotel. I was too lazy to go for the last snorkelling…coz i think i had enuf playing wif the fishes n all i wanted to do is just to relax. But they kept on insisting going for the last one n they wont leave me in peace until i said “FINE, WE SHALL ALL GO!!” So that afternoon…we went for our last snorkelling trip in the open sea but i was bored by then coz there were not much fishes compared to the last 2 places we went to….

That evening, just before dinner, we took turns to shower…I was the last one. By the time i was done, the moment i stepped out of the bathroom, i heard snores. keke..i thought it was frm aisyah only, but wat i saw shocked me to hell. ALL THREE OF THEM LYING ON THE BED….SLEEPING THEIR ASS OFF!!! I was the one who was pooped out before and they were the ones who surrendered first. NOT FAIR!!! But being a kind n all-hearted person i am, i didnt haf the heart to wake them up, so there i was, sitting at the balcony, watching the waves n eating my “kuaci”….alone.

That night we had BBQ-ed food. It was DE-LI-CIOUS…..I love the satay…the chicken…patatoes…nyum nyum.

img_0326.jpg

I dun knoe wat happen to be that night but i feel like someone put a jinx on me.

1st incident: I was grabbing some “keropok lekor” n kevin was beside me asking me wat the hell was tat. So i explained to him. Then there was a long pause. Thinking that kevin was still beside me, without even turning n checking first, i continued talking. The chef infront of me heard me saying something n said “excuse me”. I looked up to him, gave him a confused look n said..”oh noting”. Then when i turned my head, to my horror, KEVIN WASN’T THERE!! HE left me without even telling me. That’s when i saw Aisyah n started screaming Kevin’s name. That chef behind the counter was already laughing his head off at me….RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!! I was so embarrassed that i didnt go to that table anymore.

2nd incident: I was eating my corn wif my hands, then aisyah started saying that she gt a fren who’s expert enuf to eat corn wif fork n knife. So i decided to give it a try…before i knew it, the corn flew across the table. That was embarrassment no.2. The only right thing to do next is to pick up wat u left on the floor. So i bent down, without even getting off frm my seat, reaching out for that piece of corn when suddenly *POM*…I was on the floor. HAha….how i wish i could just crawl under the table n remain there….embarrassment no.3.

After dinner we did a little souvenir shopping…but there’s noting much that we could find there n the price was way expensive than the ones at Merang Jetty. Suddenly the place just reminds me of Sentosa…..

There wasnt much place we could go to at nite, so we ended up chilling by the beach bar again. The good thing was, they had some performance that nite. The bad ting was, these ppl were not professionals i guess. How do i knoe tat?? Becoz when they sing, my ears got itchy, n they could even talk to each other loudly in the middle of the song. But still, i tink they were entertaining enuf, especially when one of them tried to speak English but ended up saying “my english……habis(finish).” haha…i was laughing at that one.

Introducing…the “HOT SENSATIONS”!!!

Soon we got bored of the atmosphere n decided that it’s time for us to zzZZzzz since tml we haf to get up early for our departure. Again…aisyah was the first one to zonk out.

3rd dae in Redang
Alarm rang at 6.00am. I opened my eyes, saw susu switching her phone off, n we went back to sleep. The alarm went off at 6.15am again, i woke up, so did susu, she switch the phone off again, n went to sleep. I dragged myself to the bathroom n started washing up. By the time i was done, the rest were still snoring, except for aisyah. I had a feeling, its gng to be a rushing morning again. Packed watever i could at the same time, nagging at the “kids” to wake up. Manage to catch our breakfast, a quick photo before leaving the hotel n off to the jetty. We were late of course, but i think there were few more others who were even later than us. Felt so sad to be leaving Redang…oh well, good times will never last, hell will. hahha…..I’m so missing Redang.

Goodbye my beloved island…..I’m gonna MIss u….

Oh yah…by the way, just a little advice to u guys out there. If u r wif ure frens, n u knew very well that ure frens are the crazy bunch kind, just dun ever fall asleep when they are around. U never knoe wat they’d do to u. Take it frm someone who has been through tat situation…..

img_0422.jpgimg_0425.jpgimg_0423.jpgimg_0426.jpgimg_0424.jpgiimg_0427.jpg
All i wanted was just some sleep…. :(

The ride back home was a sad one. The whole bus was practically…silent. Either they were all tired, or missing Redang already. I’m just glad that the bus haf some kind of entertainment..although the games were actually kinda “old skool”, but its more of like reminiscence to me. Tell me…where can u get to play “Circus” anymore.

He sleeps wif his eyes open!!!!

img_0436.jpg
Another way of saying….DO NOT DISTURB!!!

Me n Ais concentrating on the game

We reached S’pore nearly 10pm. *phew..* that was a really long ride……I can’t wait for my next holiday. Next stop….Genting Highlands.

Redang Lagoon Holiday

May 10, 2007 at 2:12 pm (Uncategorized)

Singapore @ 1930hr
Saying byes to my parents, especially my mom. Did my last “checks” with my luggage, last kiss for my Tikuting, final byes to my parents again n off i go. I didnt knoe leaving my house for a holiday trip could be so hard. OK..i guess it’s kinda obvious that it’s my first time gng for a holidae without my parents. Went to meet susu at my bus stop….man…waiting for her is like waiting for a shooting star. I guess she’s having trouble leaving her house too. ahakz….

Finally, met Aisyah n Kevin at Lavender MRt. So the whole Redang gang is here!!! A quick snap of our happy faces n off to Beach rd for our dinner.

Kev, me n Ais

I can still remember the feeling we had. We were so excited n……….excited!!! haha…it’s unexplainable at all. We just couldnt wait to get out of singapore n be somewhere else. Somewhere further than Sentosa. Redang is the perfect place for us to be. After 6 weeks of PRCP, 3 years of studying, we definitely deserve this trip. Aisyah’s been there before, so that makes her the unofficial tour guide. We dun haf to worry abt getting lost coz AISYAH’S THERE!! If in doubt, we can always refer to www.aisyah’sbrain.yahoo.com. haha…u knoe we love u aishee…..

We were already planning our activities at Redang over dinner. Imagining oursleves with a coconut each, relaxing by the beach, gng for a massage…woah…tis is wat i call LIFE. After dinner, we went to Golden Mile to wait for our bus. They got a very “professional” way of letting u knoe that ure bus is here. Without using any speakers or microphones, they’ll shout at the top of their lungs the no. of ure bus. Then they’ll tell u where ure bus is. If u miss the first call, they’ll shout out ure name next. So now, the whole world knoes ure name!! Congratulation!!

I love our bus. Not only is it spacious, we all gt a tv each!! Complete with headphones, game controller + cartridge, list of movies n music….i just love it. The seats are so comfy that sleeping was not a problem at all. It’s big enuf to share it wif another person even. The ride was damn long. Plus, it’s in the middle of the nite. It’s so dark outside that all i could see through the window is a reflection of myself. I couldnt sleep at all, probably coz i was too excited. Susu was tossing n turning beside me herself, i guess she’s excited too. keke….but there’s only 1 person who found a solution for that problem, n that person slept throughout the nite.

kidnapped??
Smart huh??

Day 1 @ Redang
At 0645hr, the dawn started to break. I could see that we near to our destination. I just love the sight of that place. There were kampung houses rite in front of the clear blue sea. Children in uniforms walking in groups, heading for the skool. People rushing to work on bikes. It’s just so different. There are more lady drivers there compared to here. It’s like as if, women are more superior compared to men. Everywhere u turn, u see women driving her children to skool, driving to werk, driving her husband to werk…interesting…..

We reached Merang Jetty @ 0800hr. Queued for ferry tickets, relieved ourselves in the loo n did a little window shop at those tiny souvenir-shops. I thought we were the only ones gng for a holiday in Redang in early May….period where ppl are still busy werking n making money. But i was so damn wrong. There were crowds even before us. There’s this particular family, they look like as if they were gng to move there. Either that or they were preparing for a war. They had bags n bags of clothings, boxes of foods n another bags of soft toys. I even saw a huge tin of Milo with them. I guess that’s why my parents hate to bring us for a holiday when we were small.

@ merang Jetty
Smilez!!!

img_0076.jpg
The souvenir shops at MErang jetty

The ferry sets off at 0910hrs….n i thought it’s just gng to be a short ride. Took 45min to finally reach Redang. Along the way…spotted tis uniquely shaped land.

its a Man!!!
Tat’s a man lying down there!!!

img_0091.jpg
I love the way the water SPaRkLes…

we’re here!!!

I just fell in love to the place the moment i saw the beach. It’s purely heaven. The sand were so white…the sea were so blue….couldn’t picture it any better. There’s even a “welcome drink” before we check in…i was really in heaven. The only problem was, we haf to wait til 1pm for our rooms coz they were not ready yet. So for nearly 2 hrs, we were just wandering around the beach n had our lunch before finally being able to get the keys o our room. Not that i’m complaining, but after a 12hr journey…i just wan to lie down in bed n start snoring.

img_0136.jpg
zzZZZzZZZZZZZ…..

BUT THERE’S NO TIME FOR TAT!!! Coz we gt to unpack n get ready for our first snorkelling trip.

the snokellersimg_0146.jpg

U see….i can’t swim…AT ALL!! I dun knoe how to breaststroke, or butterflystroke or forggie style…or watever. I only knoe how to drown. So only god knoes how nervous i was about tis snorkelling tingy, coz even wif the life jacket on, i fear that i was too heavy that i could just “plop” to the bottom of the ocean. Maybe it’s just my luck…the boat we were on, they dont haf the ladder tingy where u can just climb down into the sea. So unfortunately, we had to JUMP into the sea. I was so afraid to make that leap that aisyah had to stationed herself beside me to give that moral support. haha….i’m so hopeless, i knoe…

The moment i started looking down into the water, it was a whole lot different story. I started swimming (i think coz i was paddling n moving at the same time) n i just didnt wan to get out of the water. Fishes were all literally swimming around u. U could see the corals, sea cucumber, some water plants that i dun knoe wat they’re called….n lots of fishes. There were blue, green, yellow n even the brown fish….just 1 arm away frm u. The sight was just unforgettable. Took some pictures there….

7b-124.jpg7b-119.jpg

Then when we got back to Redang, we decided to haf a go on the “banana boat ride”. but we had to wait for another 1/2hr coz they’ll only start at 5.30pm. so wat else…MORE PICS!!!

img_0186.jpgimg_0165.jpg
WeeeEEeEEEeeEEEeEEE~

The banana boat ride was superb. I still remember the exact words that the “boat guys” told us….”If the boat topples, let go. Do not hold on to the boat.” So my thought was, that would be a rare case (for the boat to topples) coz he uses the word “if”. But wat do u knoe, they were just merely flinging us around, TRYING to get the boat topple. Quote frm susu, “they did a Tokyo Drift on the water” so that we would loose balance n ended up being thrown into the sea. AAAARRGHHH!!!!

By the time we got back…all of us were too pooped out. I could hear my bed calling out my name….but then again, it’s the first day at redang!!! U can’t rest yet!!! Went for dinner (tasted better than the lunch)…went to buy a few snacks(in case we gt hungry)..n went to collect our snorkelling pictures (cost us RM5 each). Then back to our hotel. Aisyah was totally a goner. She just slammed her body on the bed n *poof*, she’s dead!! But the rest of us thought that the nite is still young, so we decided to pay a visit to Laguna’s ONLY disco club. Well..all i can say is, the place sux. Filled with wannabes who gt kicked out from their own country’s pub i guess. So we changed the venue to the bar by the seaside. It’s much better there, coz all u can hear is the soft music playing n the sound of the waves crashing down to the beach. U gt a drink in ure hand, the sky is filled with glittering stars, soft wind blowing…wat more can u ask for….

img_0224.jpg

So tat’s pretty much of our 1st dae in REdang….will continue more tml wif our 2nd dae there. Hope u guys were not bored…

To be continued…..

GoodBye Ward 58!!

May 4, 2007 at 12:20 am (Uncategorized)

Last dae in ward 58 already. WooOohooOoo~! Which also means that my redang trip is nearer!!! AAaAaARrghHh!!! i’m feeling estatic. :)

It happens all the time. On the last dae of ure werk, when u plan to haf all fun n play, it’s got to be the busiest day of ure posting. Damn it. And it’s not the kind of day that u wan to remember as the last dae of ure attachment. Apologies to my staff nurses on duty todae coz i knoe that i didnt do my job well but i do hope that i haf been of some help in any way.

It’s a waste that the new batch of HO doctors are coming in ONLY when we are abt to leave. Y am i making this a big deal?? u see…we all knoe that most doctors are stuck up, arrogant, ungrateful n proud. But the new batch of HO doctors are unfamiliar with our settings. Which means that they will be a lost sheep. Which also means that they will be extra nice n polite with us so that they will get on our good side n that we are willing to help them. Clever huh. So that is y i said “it’s waste for us to go when they just came”. Coz, eventhough we are students, we’ll be able to instruct them around coz they knoe NOTHING. haha….yah, it’s payback time. Maybe u dun believe me…so let me give u an example of a true life incident. keke…It’s the first dae for the new batch of HO doctors. There was tis HO who asked me (since i was the i/c for that dae) whether or not to do ECG for the patient. I said it’s up to him, if he orders it, we will do it. He said he not sure if he wanted it coz he doesnt wan to bother us nurses (aaawww so shweet rite). In the end, we came to a conclusion to do it. Then he couldnt stop saying thank u to us. It was thanks after thanks after thanks after thanks….haha. These kind of things seldom happen with the experienced ones. Another true life incident….I was calling for this HO but she didnt answer the phone even after 4-6 calls. So i called the MO instead (MO’s are bigger than HO’s). The MO asked me y didnt i get his HO to do the job, so i told him i couldnt reach her at all. So he tried to called the HO, but this time, she answered the call. So she kinda gt a lil’ scolding from the MO for not picking up her phone. That afternoon, that HO came up to our ward n apolagies to us personally for not answering the phone. She even explained the reason y she took so long to answer the phone. haha…so cute. Of course we were nice to her too lah…we’re mot that mean u knoe. But the main idea is, they are so much nicer n polite when they are new. Let’s see….i give them 2 weeks, before they start behaving like rest. *sigh*…y do good things always haf to come to an end……

Anyway…since todae is our last dae, we bought the staff a cake. The cake is so damn cute, wif powerpuff print on top (coz there were 3 off us). I didnt manage to grab a picture of it, coz by the time i came, 1/4 of the cake was gone. They planned a lil’ outing for us. So after werk, we went to Far East plaza to haf our dinner. We gave our preceptor a little present the other dae, so todae, he gave us something back. Look….

NaMe StaMp

Tats my name there!!!! haha…feel like as if i just gt promoted…keke. I was so overexcited that i started stamping on everybody’s napkin. We went to MArina Square K-box…my first time there, so obviously i was the quitest, trying to not make a single sound that’s loud enuf to be captured by the “microphone”, but in the end, they managed place that “microphone” into my hands, which left me wif no choice but to expose the hideous, untamed, squawky voice of mine. i’m surprised that they manage to get through the ordeal. I would haf sworn they should be wearing hearing aids by now.

Enjoyed the outing wif them. Hope to see u guys soon.
